No More Stolen Relatives: A Fundraiser for Gitchigumi Scouts - a Frontline Search Group for MMIWR

Tuesday March 17 and Wednesday March 18 are your opportunities to give the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency your feedback on the critical water crossing permits for Line 3! The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is holding two days of hearings - one in Bemidji, and one in Grand Rapids - to hear from the public. We need to pack these rooms to tell the MPCA to protect our water, air, and land and deny Enbridge their permits.

Lawyers and Legal Workers:

Line 3 Resistance Legal Support Needs You!

You are cordially invited to an informational event to learn how you can join Water Protectors in their resistance to the Enbridge Line 3 pipeline. Surveying and clearing along the corridor has already begun, and we expect an upsurge in resistance as construction begins in earnest in the spring of 2019. Come by Walker Church, 3104 16th Ave. South, in Minneapolis, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday October 25th. Refreshments will be served, and there will be informational presentations by front line activists, organizational leadership, and fellow lawyers and legal workers.

Join us to help get an early start in creating structures that work best for legal workers and activists. Learn about what legal needs already exist and what will be needed in to the future. We are especially interested in working with attorneys interested in Indigenous issues and treaty rights, environmental issues, and working with activist campaigns. We are also seeking to build a team of legal observers to attend protests and monitor law enforcement actions, as well as people interested in providing on the ground legal support.

This event is coordinated by Pipeline Legal Action Network (PLAN) and the National Lawyers Guild of Minnesota

And co-sponsored by: Indigenous Environmental Network

Speakers include: Front-line activists from the pipeline route, Bruce Nestor of the Minnesota National Lawyers Guild and Tara Houska of Honor the Earth.

If you can not attend, but want more information or to get involved, fill out this form and we will get in touch with you.

Thanks for all you do and for choosing to join us in this struggle,

What you can do

Representation

We are looking for lawyers who are able to represent activists who are arrested during the struggle against the line 3 pipeline at reduced rates or pro-bono

Legal support

Want to get involved in non-representation legal work for pipeline activists? Get in touch to be plugged in with work that needs to be done on trainings, logistical coordination, information gathering and more

Legal observing

Work with the National Lawyer’s Guild legal observer program to make sure activists’ rights are not being violated by law enforcement and pipeline employees

Resist!

We are here to strengthen and support resistance to the Line 3 project. Keeping up the fight is the best way to support our work!

Donate
